John Lawrence Sergi, Jr. of Monessen passed away unexpectedly on June 17, 2017 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. Born on July 24, 1970, he is the son of the late John Lawrence Sergi, Sr. and Shirley (Wise) Sergi. Along with his parents, Mr. Sergi is preceded in death by an infant brother, Mark Allen Sergi, maternal grandmother, Nellie Wise, paternal grandparents, Samuel and Lillian Sergi and many aunts and uncles. He is survived by his sister, Jodie Zupan (John), niece, Gianna Zupan of Monessen, cousin and best Friend, Tina (Bill) Vetter, with whom he resided in Monessen, special cousins, Savannah Vetter and Mark A. Yonko, Jr. of Carnegie, Aunt and Uncle, Sharon and Danny Kuchera of Monessen, dear friend, Rose Ackerman of Monessen and beloved dog "TeeBird," along with many aunts, uncles and cousins. Mr. Sergi was an avid music lover and was known for his kind nature. He worked at Monessen Giant Eagle for many years as well as doing contracting work. Mr. Sergi was a member of the Croation Club in Monessen and was a catholic by faith. He was also a survivor of Stage IV throat cancer.
